Turkish Defense Leader ASELSAN Reports Strong Growth in H1 2024

Turkish defense leader ASELSAN announced impressive financial results for the first half of 2024, with revenues of 35.7 billion Turkish Lira (over $1 billion USD), up 8% year-on-year. Net profit soared by 133% to 3.6 billion TL, demonstrating the company’s strong performance and resilience.

ASELSAN secured new contracts worth $2.6 billion, including $365 million from international markets, increasing its total order backlog to $12.3 billion. EBITDA rose 9% to 8.7 billion TL.

Highlighting ASELSAN’s global growth, CEO Ahmet Akyol noted, “Our game-changing technologies and strong operations have positioned us among the world’s fastest-growing defense companies, now ranked 42nd on Defence News’ Top 100 list.”

Export achievements included contracts for eight systems such as KORKUT, CENK, and ASELFLIR 500, with market expansion to three new countries. Domestically, ASELSAN delivered key systems to Turkish forces, including the ALP 300-G Radar and AESA Aircraft Nose Radar, while advancing projects like the GÖKSUR Close-in Air Defence System and equipping TÜRKSAT 6A and TCG PİRİREİS with advanced technologies.

ASELSAN also made strides in missile technology with extended range Hisar-O missile tests and the TOLUN munition launched from the AKINCI UCAV.

As it nears its 50th anniversary, ASELSAN’s “AselsaneXt 2030” strategy aims to secure a spot among the world’s top 30 defense companies by the decade’s end
