
A Myanmar worker jumped to his death from a factory dormitory on Saturday at Phra Samut Chedi district in Samut Prakan Province of Thailand. The factory located in a 10-rai area, had about 500 Thai and Myanmar workers.
On Saturday afternoon, the 43-year-old Myanmar worker jumped from the 4th floor of the dormitory to his death. The man worked in the factory’s production department. He had been placed in isolation after a local Covid-19 outbreak.
A duty officer at Phra Samut Chedi police station said the incident occurred at about 3.30pm at a factory manufacturing steel products in Soi Suksawat 78 at Moo 7 village in tambon Nai Khlong Bang Plakot.
The body was found lying face down on a motorcycle parking area in front of a 5-storey dormitory. Police and doctors rushed to the factory, the area had been sealed off and police were investigating to establish the motive.
The body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy. It was initially believed he acted out of depression.
