Saraswati Puja, one of the most important festivals for Bangladesh’s Hindu community, is being celebrated today with great enthusiasm across the country.
The festival, held on the fifth day of the bright fortnight in the Bangla month of Magh, is dedicated to Saraswati, the Goddess of wisdom and knowledge. It holds special significance for students and educational institutions, where devotees gather to seek blessings for learning and enlightenment.
In a show of goodwill, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have extended warm wishes to the Hindu community on the occasion.
At Jagannath University, the central Puja Udjapan Committee is hosting a major event, while various locations in Dhaka are also bustling with festive celebrations. The occasion reflects the spirit of communal harmony and the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
